Yahoo Taiwan teamed up yesterday with eight financial institutions to launch a special e-mail account services for its 8 million account holders to deliver bank bills electronically.
“Our domain key technology will ensure the arrival of bills at account holders’ inboxes with a security check,” Charlene Hung (洪小玲), general manager at Yahoo Taiwan, told a launch ceremony.
The domain key technology and online identification will ensure that no fraudsters will be able to take advantage of the bill delivery system. A dollar sign will identify bank bill e-mails to help ensure the messages aren’t seen as spam, Hung said.
Yahoo is looking to add more banks to its roster of partners, she said, adding: “We hope to include utilities bills in the future.”
Yahoo’s partners include Taishin Financial Holding Co (台新金控), E. Sun Bank (玉山銀行), Mega International Investment Services (兆豐證券), Cathay United Bank (國泰世華銀行), Fubon Commercial Bank (富邦銀行), Union Bank of Taiwan (聯邦銀行) and Chinatrust Commercial Bank (中國信託銀行).
