Quanta's board picks new president

REPLACEMENT Vice chairman C.C. Leung will take over after Michael Wang resigned because of differences with management over the company's development roadmap

Tony Tseng (曾省吾), a Taipei-based Merrill Lynch & Co analyst, said Wang had attempted to broaden the company's product line to seek new growth avenues.

"He tried to make some changes to strategy and do more integration with component suppliers and non-notebook businesses," Tseng said. But "Wang's moves didn't show any payoff while he was in charge."
