Computex, the world's second-largest IT trade fair, opens its doors from June 5 to June 9 in Taipei with more vendors participating this year.
The show will have a total of 2,926 booths and organizers hope to attract 132,000 visitors, including 32,000 from overseas.
This is a slight increase from last year's 2,907 booths, as well as 130,452 visitors including 30,275 from abroad, the organizers said yesterday. .
Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA, 外貿協會), one of the show's organizers, said with better turnout and more vendors this year, the fair should bring in more orders for vendors, considering sales generated at last year's show were worth around US$12.5 billion.
For its 27th year, Computex's venues will include all the exhibition halls of the Taipei World Trade Center, as well as the Taipei International Convention Center.
It will serve as a platform for overseas buyers to source products, especially from local firms such as Acer Inc, Asustek Computer Inc (華碩電腦) and BenQ Corp (明基) among others.
Leading global heavyweights such as Nvidia Corp, Intel Corp and Microsoft will attend and TAITRA has also invited 42 foreign firms from 27 countries to come to the fair.
