Wiegmann's company is renowned for its leading role in the annual iF Product Design Awards, one of the world's premier industrial design awards. Weigmann: Designers in the competition tend to give the products a shape and draw very nice sketches. They try to foresee new trends and design a new product accordingly. But we already live in a world with many digital products.

The top designers identify issues with existing products, and then think of solutions to solve these problems before designing a new product. These are going to be the award winners. Think of what the new feature can offer for everyone or certain target groups, try to solve their problems and this is the first step to innovation.
