Credit abusers receive reprieve

In response, vice premier Tsai said the government will also ask local banks to carry out stricter reviews when issuing new credit cards, adding that users should be responsible for their consumption as well.

"I understand that some of the credit abusers may be still dreaming of the pending Bankruptcy Law' (破產法) so they can simply go bankrupt without paying a penny," Tsai said. "I would urge them stop dreaming because I am quite sure that related personnel who are working out the law will try to avoid that eventuality."
