Central bank raises rates again

FOLLOW THE FED The bank's latest interest rate hike of 0.125 percentage points has brought the total cumulative increase since September 2004 to one percentage point

While the central bank decided to raise rates in order to keep inflation in check, domestic commercial banks are expected to lift their prime lending rates by a corresponding amount within the next few days.
