Those on the look-out for new electronics appliances for their homes might want to check out the Taipei Digital Appliance Fair, which started yesterday at Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall I.
The small-scale expo showcases a variety of home appliances including refrigerators, washing machines, liquid-crystal-display televisions, audio equipment and gadgets like MP3 players and cellphones.

Its new series of air conditioners come with a special filter with a vitamin C coating, which is said to allow ventilated air to moisturize the skin.
Air conditioners by Daikin Industries of Japan featuring vitamin C filters have been a hit in the marketplace in recent years.
"Similar products were particularly welcomed by female consumers in Japan in the second half of last year, and we would love to duplicate the success here," a Tatung product assistant manager said.
Prices of the air conditioners range from NT$9,490 to NT$25,900.
The vitamin C filter, which lasts for five months, retails at NT$600 apiece, he added.
Another product stealing the show is a high-tech fridge from Mitsubishi Electric Corp.
The MR-G50NF fridge utilizes light-emitting diodes (LED) to extend freshness of vegetables as well as eliminate lead and chlorine in tap water to produce healthier ice cubes.
The 495 liter fridge comes with a price tag of NT$65,900, which is the most expensive of all Japanese-brand fridges, according to Chou Chin-lung (周志隆), a manager from Taiwan Kolin Co (歌林), a local distributor of Mitsubishi products.
The fair is in its 16th year, with 36 exhibitors attending this time around, according to the Taipei Electrical Commercial Association (台北電器公會), the organizer of the fair.
It opens from 10am to 6pm daily and will end on Sunday. Admission is NT$200, with a discount for students.
