Chunghwa Telecom Co (中華電信) and Cisco Systems Inc, the world's biggest maker of networking equipment, said they will jointly provide corporate network management to cut costs for the service.
"Via the alliance, Chunghwa Telecom hopes to create new revenue," Chunghwa Telecom chairman Hochen Tan (賀陳旦) said in a statement the companies issued yesterday.
"We hope to create a win-win situation for our clients, Chunghwa Telecom and Cisco," he said.
The statement did not say how much the two companies expected to spend on the alliance, when the venture would start or how much they expect to make from it.
