Economics minister hopes for resolution

CNA , TAIPEI

Economic Affairs Minister Ho Mei-yueh (何美玥) said yesterday that she hopes an agreement will be reached in the WTO ministers meeting which is set to open in Hong Kong today.

Ho made the remarks as she was leaving for the six-day meeting, at the head of a Taiwan delegation that includes agricultural and foreign-affairs officials.

She said that the key will be arriving at a consensus on lowering tariffs for agricultural and industrial products. She also said that she hopes member countries would not abuse their anti-dumping rights.
