During their visit, the delegation members will call on Macau officials and leaders of the industrial and business communities to discuss measures aimed at promoting bilateral economic and trade relations and coping with any impact that may arise from the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) implemented by China to strengthen its economic partnerships with Hong Kong and Macau, said CNFI Supervisor Yen Chang-kung (
According to Yen and Wang, who are making a transit stopover in Macau on their way back to Taiwan, the delegation will also take advantage of the upcoming trip to gather first-hand information concerning the development of a cross-border industrial zone between Macau and Zhuhai as well as economic cooperation within the Greater Pearl River Delta Region.
The trade promotion delegation was originally scheduled to visit Macau in April, but the trip was canceled due to the outbreaks of bird flu, they said.
The CNFI signed a cooperation agreement with five Macau industrial and business organizations last year.
