TAIEX falls as vote approaches

The analyst said that if Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) Chairman Lien Chan (連戰) wins, a transfer of power may translate into market chaos for at least one quarter, although Lien's victory may guarantee a rosier performance for the benchmark in the long run.
