Infineon says court upholds injunction against ProMos

AFP AND BLOOMBERG , TAIPEI

Infineon Technologies AG said a local court upheld an injunction against ProMos Technologies Inc (茂德科技), its join

t venture with Mosel Vitelic Inc (茂矽電子), and two of its employees will be returned to ProMos's board of directors.

Infineon, also terminated a technology license agreement with ProMos "due to a serious breach of contract as ProMos is supplying all products manufactured with Infineon technology to Mosel," the company said in a statement.

Infineon and its local partner Mosel Vitelic set up ProMos in 1996 as a joint venture, but relations between the two part-ners have soured in recent weeks. Earlier this month, ProMos shareholders voted three Infineon executives off the company's board hours after their election.

Infineon challenged the moves by filing an injunction at the Hsinchu District Court and decided it would pull out of ProMos altogether by selling its 30 percent stake in ProMos.
