A Taiwan cruise company will launch Taiwan-Philippines service next month, and hopes eventually it can launch regular Taiwan-China service, the company said yesterdayy.
The 25,000-tonne China Sea Discovery will make its inaugural voyage between Kaohsiung, south Taiwan, and Philippine capital Manila on Feb. 2, said Lu Yu-min (魯裕民), chairman of Envision International Ltd (永源國際).
"It is a six-day-five-night voyage. Passengers will spend two days visiting the Philippines, but they have to spend the night on board," he said by phone.
The ship can carry 800 passengers with a crew of 340.
