"Our work shows we are not going into a double-dip recession," he said. "Where we are in the stock market and economic cycle tends to favor small-cap stocks."
Earnings of small caps over all have not yet picked up, largely because many technology and biotechnology companies are still losing money, said Jack Laporte, president and portfolio manager at T. Rowe Price New Horizons. He said the sector would rebound when earnings improved.
