Chief financial officers in Asia are more upbeat on economic prospects than their peers in Europe though generally less optimistic than at the beginning of this year, a survey said yesteday.
CFOs in the US have not lost a great deal of confidence over the last year, according to the survey by CFO Europe. The Global Confidence Survey seeks responses from more than 100 senior CFOs from around the world regarding prospects for their own firms and the broader economy.
The fourth quarter survey found that 34 percent of Asian finance chiefs held a positive view of the Asian economy in the year ahead, down from 46 percent in the first quarter.
In Europe, only 6 percent of the CFOs queried had a positive take on the European economy as well as the global economy in the next year, a drop from the 43 percent and 30 percent who were optimistic in the first quarter.
