Boeing Co, the world's largest planemaker, expects more commercial and military aircraft orders from Asia as demand recovers faster than other regions.
``Asia is one of the few markets that is very strong right now,'' Stanley Roth, vice president of Asia international relations, said in an interview.
Chicago-based Boeing, which recently opened an office in Malaysia's capital, is looking to Asia for growth to offset a slump in the US aviation industry after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks last year. The Kuala Lumpur office will be used as a base to raise Boeing's profile in Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia.
