Mazda Motor Corp is adding a third model to the cars it is producing in China as a part of the Japanese automaker's strategy to boost global sales.
The Mazda 6 sedan will be produced at a plant run by First Automotive Works, a major Chinese carmaker, in Changchun, starting in March, Mazda said yesterday.
US-based Ford Motor Co owns about a third of Hiroshima-based Mazda.
Mazda has been producing the Premacy minivan in China since last year and the Mazda 323 sedan since last month, both at a plant in Hainan, southern China.
