Executives of computer and computer-related high-tech companies from both sides of the Strait, as well as representatives of world-renowned computer firms, are expected to take part in the one-and-a-half-day workshop dedicated exclusively to talks on electronic commerce and Internet development and application.

The announcement was made by sources from the Taipei Computer Association (台北電腦協會), which is co-sponsoring the forum and Computex Taipei 2001, along with the China External Trade Development Council (外貿協會).

China is expected to send a major delegation to the forum.

In addition, representatives of a number of leading computer manufacturers around the world, including Computer Associates, Intel, Hong Kong-based Diyixian, Chunghwa Telecom Co Ltd (中華電信) and Acer Inc (宏電), are also to take part in the forum.
