Evergreen Group may add some young blood

Following the first major management reshuffle at EVA Air (長榮航空), pundits are predicting similar changes throughout the Evergreen Group with Chairman Chang Jung-fa (張榮發) likely to inject some younger blood into senior management positions.

The management moves are likely to be personally engineered by Chang, and will become necessary due to the nearing of certain senior managers to the company's mandatory retirement age of 70.

The heads of Evergreen's affiliates, such as Port Corp (長榮運輸), Evergreen Security Corp (長榮保全) and Evervoyage Transport Corp (長榮通運), will all reach retirement age in May.

"In response to a new age of competitiveness, the management of the business must be young to give the the company vigor," Chang said.
