Taipei-based software firm Ulead Systems Inc, a leading developer of image editing, video editing and Web graphics software, released July sales figures today, reporting that worldwide sales last month reached US$2.7 million -- a US$1.6 million, or 65.5 percent increase over the same period last year.
The company reported that its home video editing software, Ulead VideoStudio lead this sales growth, with a monthly sales record of US$975,000.
"Ulead VideoStudio continues to dominate the Japanese digital video editing market for FireWire PCs and 1394 Peripherals," said Danielle Liao, president of Ulead. "And we are now seeing equally positive performance in North America. We are extremely pleased with the results."
Total sales for the first seven months of 2000 came to US$15.9 million, an increase of 28.6 percent over the same period last year. Ulead's video and image editing products accounted for 54 percent and 30 percent of total sales in the Jan. to July period, respectively.
Ulead Systems has been rated by analysts as one of Taiwan's top software firms and a world leader in video, imaging and Web graphics software and Internet applications. The company's products include PhotoImpact, VideoStudio, MediaStudio Pro and Photo Express.
Ulead also offers a number of online services at its Web site, WebUtilities.com, where users can try out a variety of programs, such as imaging software.
